Chevy trucks really are the "Heartbeat of America", as GM claimed in its advertising back in the 1980s and 1990s. Our entire modern civilization could, theoretically, be linked back to Chevy and GMC pickups. Contractors, farmers, utility workers, rail workers, construction workers, plumbers, carpenters, and just about any skilled trade or profession could link its existence to some kind of pickup truck, with the Silverado and Sierra together as America's best sellers.
Its quite alarming, then, when the cornerstone of American life turns out to be a wet sponge. Maybe I'm being dramatic, but if I can't believe in something as simple as a Chevy truck, then I'm giving up on baseball, hamburgers, and Christmas.
